At a moment’s glance, the most straightforward frames are often misunderstood to be the easiest to execute. While not entirely untrue, this particular experience unveiled the greater narrative within the details.


The goal was to promote the client’s 3 clay pot dishes with a simple static post. Therefore, they wanted their in-house chef to plate the dishes as they would serve them at their outlets. I was only left with the saucers of condiments to style for the dish.


I still needed to revitalize the toppings with oil for a more appetizing glow. There was also the oil separation from the soup dishes I needed to unclot. While the composition was simple, it felt like something was missing. It wasn’t until my content strategist handed me one of the spare rotan props I’d packed that the picture was fully realised.


It’s why the smallest embellishments are what make a final product truly shine – especially in ways we could never have planned.
