Specialists as seen on-screen aren’t always the actual professionals being filmed. The scene at an establishment is always portrayed more idealistically. Creating idealistic scenes depends on a lot of planning and restructuring.
We continue with the underlying story of this client’s Instagram reels comes this brief glimpse into the banquet department’s day-to-day work. The event hall was actually all set for a hotel guest’s wedding.
There was some improvisation on repositioning half the grand table. We did our best to follow the place settings. However, it needed retouching by the banquet manager for one of the shots regardless. We made sure to request as much of the actual tools used in their banquet preparation, including the steam iron.
Aside from that, the remaining struggle was the glass backdrop that made the exterior visible. Not only did we have to capture a specific background landmark but we also needed to time each take when no guests were walking past.
Filming with a legitimate professional is always beneficial in portraying authenticity. Additionally, part of storytelling is embellishments so we can enjoy an image of what could be. How much embellishment or idealization do you prefer in your stories?
