Some clients have interestingly particular requirements. They specify what they’d like shown on-camera and what they don’t – regardless of realism.
This post was a rare stand-alone reel with no continuation. The objective was to showcase the hotel’s premium pillow service. To showcase the hotel's essential housekeeping service, we had one of the hotel’s genuine housekeepers featured as the talent. While slightly nervous at first, she took directions well throughout.
Authentic as this was, we were also instructed to meet specific requirements. We were to maintain a very clean look for all room surfaces. For example, we had to omit the commonplace room telephone to eliminate the messy cable work. In addition, an orchid needed to always be featured as it was part of the client’s trademark icons.
Nevertheless, it is the client’s brand and how they’d like it portrayed. Our job in production is there to advise and help transform their vision. They know their customer base. We know media production.
