Hey, I'm Ned. I would love to connect and see where there might be synergies in our work. I am constantly looking for new partnerships across all my products and projects. Let's chat!

I'm a multi-hyphenate creative (one Fortune 500 executive called me a "factotum" in a job interview, which is the bougiest thing I've ever heard and I adore it), tech founder, entrepreneur, as well as an experienced executive assistant. I bring a unique skill set and perspective honed from working across a vast range of industries that can level up your project, team, or production.

Founder:
I have experience in industries such as entertainment, blockchain/cryptocurrency, SaaS apps, legal, finance, real estate, restaurants, and more. I am just as comfortable as an outward-facing member of a team, as I am an inward-facing person who helps bring the team to the next level.

As a producer/content creator I've won awards for my wide range of content, including podcasts, web series, and albums. Every project I undertake is designed to not just be content of the highest quality, but products you haven't seen before. I take pride in developing work that fills holes in industries rather than recycles previously successful content.

My podcast Encounter Party! has been downloaded over 350,000 times, spent 7+ weeks on Apple Podcasts' New & Noteworthy charts and has charted for Comedy Fiction in more than 50 Countries. The show has been featured by Nerdist, Syfy Wire, and more. I also produced for Millennial, a Radiotopia podcast created by Megan Tan.

Given my experience in both the podcast and web series spaces, I partnered with the New Jersey Web Festival (one of the world's top-rated festivals for web series) to expand their offering to include Fiction Podcasts. As an Executive Board Member I am working with them to continuously elevate and support underrepresented web mediums in the entertainment landscape.

Made an Announcement
One week from today is my last day at my day job. After 6 years I am pivoting my career back to full-time acting / writing / producing. Starting 1/29 I am oh-so-unemployed and I am v stressed and v scared because capitalism is a crushing nightmare.

SO on Saturday, 1/29, my world changes drastically. If you're interested in collaborating on a project, let's talk! If you're wondering what irons I've got in the fire, ooh LET'S TALK!

If you want to play games, I'm very free and would love to do so. I'm going to be streaming over on Twitch pretty consistently once the dust settles as a way to force myself to take breaks from writing and project development. I should have a schedule/plan soon, if you want to game avec moi or just hang out, let's do it. https://twitch.tv/neddonovan13

So lastly...any good vibes you lovely humans can send my way over the next month or so would be very appreciated while I adjust to this very non-financially-stable path I haven't done since I was in my mid-20s.

Shoutout to my wife, Jenni, who is somehow putting up with this.

Published a blog post
We're excited to share our last "Thank You, 10" interview of the year, featuring Mirirai of Aye Defy!

It was truly a joy getting to chat with her about her background, her journey in the industry, and her hopes for the future.

We think the best quote to sum up this wonderfully inspiring interview is:

Q: When did you set out on your current career path?
A: When I got fired...It’s totally a villain origin story with a happy ending.

Jenni and I moved to The Bronx, starting our new chapter in New York City. We'd love to host you if you're in the neighborhood!

Advised a Startup
Sometimes I chat with a startup and instantly start sending their product to my team because it solves a problem I actively have. Today I chatted with Matt Roll and Canopy Charts who absolutely fit that bill.

They offer a quick and easy solution to a major question mark we have at Audition Cat, and I'm thrilled that Polywork was able to make the connection!

Advised a Startup
Had a great call with Stephanie from CodeGem to talk about the tool they're building for software teams. Team unity, culture, and wellness are huge passions of mine and I'm thrilled to see what they're working on!

If you're looking for an unobtrusive, simple way to track your team's wellness with actionable insights, give CodeGem a look.

Handed in my notice at my day job
I officially made an extremely nerve-wracking and exciting decision. I gave my notice that I will be leaving Dashlane, to finish up at the end of January. However I'm not leaving to start in a new Executive Assistant role. As of February 2022, I will be turning my entire professional focus to the whole reason I moved to New York City in the first place. I'm returning full-time to the world of Acting, Writing, and Producing.

After I graduated college I made the majority of my living as an artist. I travelled around the country performing. I worked on stage and screen in a wide, exciting range of projects. In 2015 I earned my membership to the Actors' Equity Association. 6 months later my father's cancer took a turn for the worse, and I took a break to be with him when he passed. A week after his funeral, they found a tumor in my mom's stomach and we started the process all over again. In June of that year I tried to return to acting, and during a musical theatre class with Jen Waldman my voice stopped working. Upon inspection with Dr. Linda Dahl, I found out that I had a polyp, and would need surgery. This took my return to acting date to January 2017. One week after I was cleared by my doctors to return to performing, they declared my mom's cancer terminal. I packed my life into a few boxes, put my acting career back on the shelf indefinitely, and I moved to Maine with my brother, Will, to take care of her until she passed.

In July of 2015 I felt on top of the world, ready to chase my passions and truly build my career as an actor. May of 2017 I had lost both my parents, lost my voice, and lost my will to be professionally passionate. Anyone who has followed along with me in the last few years know that I have continued to act and produce work. There's a difference, however, between chasing it as a career, and creating passion projects. Almost 6 years after my father passed away, I'm finally ready to do both again.

I have so many exciting pots in the fire, and I can't wait to share new updates in the coming days.

But for now, thank you to everyone who has supported me. Starting in February I will be open to any and all work you might have. Plus I will continue to develop Audition Cat, to produce exciting and unique art, and to continue building a new kind of Fiction Podcast festival at the New Jersey Web Fest!

Thank you all so much, and stay tuned :)
