+1
Over 2 days Siemens hosted 24 students from Ashby School for our Future Makers competition.

I created, organised and ran the event: they had the opportunity to work in a team to propose a bid for a new tram system, design their own solutions with different technologies, analyse the costs whilst considering project decisions, risks and assumptions, then communicating the solution through a pitch to management.

I'm hugely grateful for the support of our management who played the role of the 'dragons' during the pitches and gave great questions & feedback. There's been a fair few months of planning, late nights & and extra hours put in, but it's been so worth it!

A before & after survey shows the event has made a positive impact on them in various areas, with an increase in knowledge of the rail industry, people considering a career in rail & careers in STEM, and it has helped them in developing several skills with increased confidence in problem solving, team-working, presenting and understanding of business.
