Admission Offer from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta!
I had the privilege of having an amazing start to the day. I woke up to an admission offer from Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta for their flagship PGP program. This marks the third admission offer I have received from the ever prestigious IIMs. I have been fortunate enough to be accepted into Indian Institute of Management Bangalore as well as Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. I feel tremendously grateful to these esteemed organizations for giving me a chance.
I always believed during my IIT-JEE days that an MBA after a B.Tech. is a rite of passage and that I'll require a business degree to climb the corporate ladder. However, my recent ventures into the web3 space and start-up ecosystem have taught me otherwise. I have been consumed by the to-MBA-or-not-to-MBA dilemma for so long that I even turned a very happening house party with strangers to a guidance counselor meeting. My own lived experiences over the past few months and hundreds of calls with B-School alumni have taught me that a business school makes the most impact when you know what you want out of it. It is much more important to implement your ideas than to theorize upon them.
I have caught a glimpse of the tech industry and I like what I've seen so far. I would like to explore this industry and fail fast here before making any future business plans. Hopefully, my insanely sought-after upcoming job as a software engineer at Google and the super amazing people of web3 will teach me as much as I would like to learn.
