I've always wondered if a project would come along that merged my childhood love of Wheres Wally with isometric video games. Should have known that it would arrive masquerading as a job for resident polymath Mykel Dixon for the cover for his new Wiley book, Everyday Creative.

Everyday Creative is a brilliant idea that all people of all walks have their own slice of creative genius.

So for the cover we took 1000 photos of Mykel, dressed in just about every character imaginable. Or rather, every character that he could dig out from his wardrobe at 6am that morning before high-tailing it to the studio.

Surfer, suit, scallywag, sunbather, and everything in between.

I usually love seeing the messy behind the scenes more than the end result, so here's 16 hours (probably 30 before the gratuitous Twitter doom-scrolling was taken out) of assembling 1000 portraits of Mykel, including two failed attempts at the execution, and one finished successful one, condensed into 60 seconds. All the beautiful tedium, perfectly timed with the very first Covid lockdown.
