Privacy settings/information should be included in the onboarding (love the way you explained it in the documentation btw)
Would likely involve prohibitive amounts of frustration/risks/time/effort etc, but an optional social aspect would be neat. Either an independent settings menu for each section or just the option to add other users to different groups, (ie family, colleagues, spouse/partner) and to change the visibility of the section/entry to whomever the intended audience is.
I know that introduces a pandora's box of problems, but it would probably attract more users.

The #tags and @mentions work only in Bullets for now, might extend that later, it has already been requested a few times.
About the sharing, I also think that is a good idea and I have it already on the todo list. Probably will have the option at some point to have multiple journals and then share them with other people. But as you say that is Pandora's Box, so I'll tackle that once all the basics work.
