I'd been learning about AWS Lambda since the previous re:Invent and this was the first opportunity to start putting what I knew into production. Taking an android app connecting it to Lambda functions in the backend was not easy in the early days, but it was the start of a new way of building applications. The startup would grow rapidly from that starting point into 20 countries within 2 years. The technology scaled without any problem at all.
