My “day job” involves lots of (personal) data, so to attend Big Data LDN 2019, a conference dedicated to the topic that is free to attend and easy to get to is quite exciting to attend.
Many of the sessions were not of interest, any many were commercial in nature (which I was okay with, the event had to pay for itself), but I was really impressed by “GDPR: A sword not a shield” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JT0xY_sO3T4 .
So much of GDPR management is being on the "back foot", responding to data requests or internal concerns, so to see how it can be used assertively was fascinating.
