Robin Moffatt

Hi! I'm a Staff Developer Advocate at Confluent, as well as an Oracle ACE Director (Alumnus).

I've been speaking at conferences since 2009 including QCon, Devoxx, Strata, Kafka Summit, and Øredev. You can find many of my talks online, and read my blog articles as well as ones I post on the Confluent blog

Outside of work, I enjoy running, drinking good beer, and eating fried breakfasts—although generally not at the same time.

🎉 Today we launched http://developer.confluent.io with over ten hours of FREE video courses with hands-on exercises, 50+ event streaming patterns, deep-dive articles on Kafka's internals, and a ton more 🤩

This is the culmination of many months' work by lots of folk at Confluent, and it's so exciting to see it now live.

Had fun presenting at the joint
#DE4DS / Belfast Apache Kafka Meetup.
I've done this talk many times now, and the demo is *solid* - except if you get carried away and go off-script ;) It worked out fine though, and I knew it well enough to be able to abandon the broken bit and carry on with the next section. Practice practice practice!

Finished reviewing a ton of great abstracts for #KafkaSummit Americas. I love being on the programme committee and seeing all the wonderful things people are doing with Apache Kafka.

I also love getting such a rich insight into what a good abstract looks like. It's one thing to write one, but another to be on the other side of the table with hundreds to sift through. Details matter. I wrote this blog last year and stand by all of the points in it 😃
