WorldWise Global Schools (WWGS)
School Management Symposium 2022

as part of an amazing panel at an in person event in Dublin

Panel: 'Linking GCE to our Changing Curriculum and School Environments'

What I spoke about
An invitation to view their school as a system - how might it operate in a safe just space within the planetary boundaries? proposed their school could thrive using doughnut economics, degrowth and global citizen education to effect levers for change in learning, work, play and leadership. urged them to equip our future generations with skills for the systemic changes we are facing. that creating psychological safe places for radical imagination to flourish in your school unlocks a future worth living into
At the beginning of my 10 minutes I was purposefully disruptive, as an in room event I got everyone’s attention.
Only 4 people had head about DE and more then 70% knew about Degrowth.
I summarized what I spoke about with a call to a pandemic like response from schools - { yes need to offer a new GCE within the curriculum} don’t just teach model & embed the framework of global citizen education & doughnut economics within policy, strategy, daily working practices.
Let the students lead.
