Queen of Hearts

For this week's poker challenge, I created the Queen of hearts to demonstrate sisterhood. Women uplifting each other is one of the anthems of sisterhood. I found my oil pastels and added some color to my sketches.

As part of Memorisely's emoticon design challenge, I took inspiration from Goth Rock to create the emoji via Figma. I have built this using basic shapes and radial gradients for the colors.

What's new to FigJam: Widgets, plugins, & more

During the session, we learned about various plugins and widgets in FigJam:

  • Table is an excellent widget that removes the need to have screenshots of non-editable spreadsheets.
  • Donut It consists of fun team warming exercises. It is one of my favorites since now we are working remotely. Teammates must bond more than ever since the possibility of meeting face to face is low right now.
  • Stark I love their vision of having accessibility right from the beginning of the project. It should be baked into the entire product lifecycle and not be an afterthought. Every discipline should own accessibility. It is not only the designer's responsibility.
  • CoderPad An excellent use case where interviewers can conduct interviews and assess the technical challenge. CoderPad aims to make the experience natural for candidates and interview panels and, integrating with FigJam will achieve that.

Usability testing on unplugged's prototype

Conducted unmoderated usability test on Unplugged case study with 4 users and discovered the following key areas to further improve on:
  • Adding more options and questions to personalize the cabin search results
  • Improving the structure of filter sections
  • Using real images instead of illustrations to represent landmarks and activities in this case study

Key takeaway

Being mindful about providing hints to the user. There was an instance where I had influenced the user about an interface.
