Introduction to Margot



Introduction

Margot Community provides 1-on-1 mentorship to women and gender-marginalized individuals. It aims at normalizing payment to individuals for their knowledge. It is a real-world project that I worked on while undergoing Memorisely's UI/UX Bootcamp.

This project is dear to me because I could relate to the importance of mentorship. I became aware of Memorisely only thanks to mentorship. Joining Memorisely has been one of the best decisions of my life. For this case study, we were given options to pair up with other designers or go solo. I wanted to challenge myself to see how well I managed the UX and the UI.


Key challenges

The main priority for Margot is to fix the booking process. Due to limitations in the technology, logged-in or guest users would have to fill up a long-form and input the payment details. After reaching this stage, the booking is final when the middle person confirms the timeslot. It is unacceptable for the user as they are paying for the service and expect a prompt confirmation. Otherwise, this would make them feel cheated.

In summary, these are the 2 main problems that we will be tackling:

  • Risk of the high dropout rate.
  • Distrust with the system.
