- Leadership board - bragging rights - players compete against each other or solo player aiming for the highest scores
- Achievements - rewarding players, 
- Trophies (a badge icon) -> gave a different experience in engagement and - Customer loyalty as they could understand other details like how much time this person dedicated to this activity. 
- Reward program
- Gamification is the strategy of applying gaming elements to non-gaming platforms. It taps to human's need to achieve, be rewarded, engaged, socialise. Incorporate social aspects into the software. Eg - progression, avatar, gamertag (what kind of icon next to your profile), achievements, statistics, leaderboard 
- Gamer characteristics - Perfectionist, FOMO, Completionist, Overachiever, Dedication, Need to win, Addiction, Collector, Infamy, keeping up with joneses
- Applications that use gamification -> Duolingo, Credit card, Hotels, Fitness apps, Shopping, Travel etc.
- Centrical is an onboarding application that applies gamification. Each level has a certain set of challenges in order to progress to the next one.
