If you have a limited timeframe, some ways in which we can be scrappy is to:
- Initially our plan is to interview 5 desktop users and 5 mobile users, but due to time limit, instead of interviewing 1 desktop users and 2 mobile users, try to understand which holds more risks and based on your goal we may choose to go with interviewing 5 mobile users
- Another way to be scrappy is to squeeze in your questions in another UXR session (provided you have a good working relationship with UXR peers)
- Reduce the scope
- Recruit some employee internally to save recruitment time provided they have no idea about the product you are working on
- Consider a literature review
- Pick another method (but get the same type of data). For eg - shortening your diary study from 1 month to 1 week
