You would think that Google Calendar would have a pretty robust search function.. I mean I feel like that company is known for doing "something" pretty well.
The built-in search function does work well but it definitely struggles to include all the results when some of them date back several years. This isn't something that I encountered too often but it had finally annoyed me enough to do something about it.
I spent the afternoon learning to use Apps Script to build a Calendar Add-On just to solve this little issue for my own personal use. It could use a little polish but now I'm able to search through and display events dating as far back as 1998 (way before Google Calendar even existed). And.. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
