One of the features that distinguishes Jira Product Discovery is the easy creation and manipulation of fields.
We've seen in our user research is it's critical that users get a quick understanding of the concept of fields and how to use them, and our current design just wasn't meeting that need.
I redesigned the field creation and customization experience to be more consistent across the product, and to better scale when customers added lots of fields and content (we hadn't anticipated that!). We made small changes, like adding icons to the field titles, and bigger changes, like putting the customization UI in a sidebar.
Excited to see how this tests with our alpha users.
