I textured a 3D bowling ball object in Blender with a pride flag design for The Lanes - a social hangout bowling alley game on ROBLOX. There are a wide variety of bowling ball designs offered in-game as cosmetics (purchasable with in-game currency) and this design will be available from June.
Simply applying a pride flag onto the texture template is not sufficient - the clearly-defined lines are distorted when the texture is mapped to the object. This is due to the nature of UV mapping and spherical objects, like a bowling ball. I did, however, use this as a starting point and made adjustments to restore the straight lines between colours in the flag the whole way around the bowling ball.
I achieved this result in Blender and then imported the texture into ROBLOX so that it could be applied to the in-game bowling ball.
