I intentionally created a tweet to engage a hyperlocal Twitter audience excited about Olympic swimmer Lydia Jacoby's win at the Tokyo Olympics. I used a tactic I've been applying for years and wrote about it in a members-only version of my newsletter. Over the course of a day and a half, the tweet received over 50,000 views in an area that covers roughly 237,500 people. That's reaching about 21% of the population if they all had Twitter.
