Turned an event fail into a good video

Streamed on Youtube
After starting our YouTube channel, I was in content creation mode so I thought it fun to host a LIVE event where I’d build a personal portfolio website on Notion from scratch. Without little hesitation, I blocked off time for two identical sessions, and over a hundred people signed up.

I was completely unfazed up until the moment when a blank Notion page was staring at me. All of a sudden, I lost it. I didn’t realize that coming up with a website and building it on the fly would be a very difficult task. I found myself in a panic and barely came up with anything on the fly. The second event was better but it was plagued with technical issues.

In the grand scheme of things, it wasn’t a big deal but I felt the sting of failure and embarrassment, so much so that I followed up with a 50-minute YouTube video showing what I wanted to accomplish. That video became the most watched on the channel with 9,314 views, which is three times more than the second-best video.

But we haven’t posted much, so now it’s time to get back into YouTube! I think it’s a channel that we’re vastly underestimating.
