Which job should you take?

When you're getting to the business of evaluating new companies and potential job offers, I find it useful to break each one down into elements you can easily measure and score. I outlined how I approach this, with a template you can use on your own.

What I value in a job

Every time I've looked for a job or helped others do so, one question always rises to the top. What am I looking for?

To help sort this out, I tried to write out a list of what I value in a job. Thanks for reading! Let me know what you value in your work.

I launched my website (again)

After literal years of wanting to write more, I’m finally making that happen. Instead of overthinking everything, my goal is to put things out into the world, to start conversations I want to have.

A personal website is the perfect place for this. Let me know what you think!

Over the years, I've reviewed a LOT of résumés. When I'm hiring someone, I'm looking for a quick snapshot of who someone is professionally. Unfortunately, most résumés fall short of capturing any of it.

They're either too dense or too sparse. They focus on job descriptions and titles rather than accomplishments. They list skills instead of experiences. They're just bad, and good people wind up getting ignored.

I decided to update my own résumé with these issues in mind. Let me know how it looks!

Every December, I put together a playlist of the top tracks I found or rediscovered that year. Curating the songs is so personal, bringing back the entire year of emotions. Music is a core part of me, so I thought it belongs on Polywork. 👍
