According to three current Microsoft employees, the tech giant is preparing to introduce a suite of Office 365 tools featuring GPT-4, the latest powerful artificial intelligence software from OpenAI. However, Microsoft is currently experiencing a scarcity of server hardware required to operate GPT-4, leading the company to limit access to the hardware for certain internal teams. This is being done to guarantee sufficient capacity to handle the new Office tools and Bing's upcoming GPT-4 powered chatbot, which are expected to be announced on Thursday. Additionally, this hardware deficit may be impacting Microsoft's customers, as one user reported a significant waiting period to access the OpenAI software already available through Microsoft's Azure cloud service.
