I was awarded/recognized as a Distinguished Alumni of the school district I grew up in. This hits at a level I’ve never experienced before because it comes full-circle to my childhood!

My immigrant parents worked painstakingly hard to be able to afford living in the district with the best public schools. Their pride and joy is overwhelming, and I'm grateful for the privilege I've been afforded because of it.

I’ve worked hard on making younger Upasna proud, and this recognition feels like a giant hug from her. She is saying to me, “I’m so proud of you and I love you so much.” Today, younger Upasna and older Upasna are looking at each other, face-to-face, beaming with pride and glowing with joy. ✨
