Wrote a book
The first step is admitting it, so… I’M WRITING A BOOK!? It’s about how to get a job in tech, keep that job, and (hopefully) thrive. I’m writing it from a manager’s perspective and is basically all of the stuff I wish I would have known when I first started.

This book will hopefully be applicable to anyone in tech, but my target audience is anyone who isn’t stereotypically represented, including but not limited to: women, BIPOCs, self-taught, career switchers, bootcamp graduates, and many more.

My hope is that since the book is less technical in nature, it will be a good compliment to other books, like Wellington Johnson’s upcoming “The Beginning Software Engineer’s Playbook” and Emma Bostian’s “De-Coding The Technical Interview Process”.

Since I’m looking to represent as diverse a set of backgrounds and experiences as possible, I’d love to have a handful of people pre-reading for their honest opinion. If you’re interested, let me know! I’ve got 2.5 chapters of 11 written, so it’s still early in the process.

But I’m hopeful that telling people about this book will help push me to keep writing it!
