I helped organize The Hacker Zephyr, which was the craziest thing Hack Club has ever done. We flew 42 high schoolers out to Burlington, VT, then chartered a private train across the country to Los Angeles & ran the world's longest hackathon on land on it.
Because internet is sparse when traveling across the country, Hack Club bought a server and built an intranet for the Zephyr—the ZephyrNET—where we deployed our projects.
Check out the 7-minute mini-documentary that we made. And, if you're curious to read more details,
The Hack Zephyr is open-source on GitHub.
By the way,
the ZephyrNET is now hanging from the ceiling at Hack Club HQ.
