IMHO, how you feel about a situation is primarily a function of your own bias. As an adult and a professional, my expectations is to be calm, empathic and always respectful of others.
Now sometimes, you may find yourself in a situation that sucks and you don't much of a say, especially in a corporate environment. Being a visible minority, I have seen it all.
That being said, ultimately, management has be made aware of the situation. I would expect management to handle to handle the situation. If they fail to do so. Then the choice is your. You either stay or leave. Luckily, I am very good at what I do, software engineering. So for me leaving mostly turned out to be an upside. Your mileage may vary. In either outcome, it's never easy. One must have courage, dignity and do the right thing.
Hope that helps
I think that there is power in appreciation and encouragement in a work place. Although, a leaders positive attitude plays a role, It's not about the leader, it's about everyone taking the initiative to promote peace and happiness in a work place. I feel that one way of promoting happiness in a workplace is by sensitizing leaders and employees on the negative effects of criticism and negative messages such as reduced productivity, and mental health issues. .
To bring out a solution for a better work place, it takes a leader who walks the path to show his peers how to do it; an empathetic team who're willing to work & grow together & last but not the least a mindset where everybody is equal. Thank you for choosing this topic. It would be great to talk about it in more details.
Tanzila, thank you for bringing this perspective to the discussion! And it raises another question. How to find a way to help every person who wishes to feel better? Even when there is no such a leader. Let's talk!
That is a good idea! I couldn't disagree with you less. But the question is how.
Well I want to say we have to classify the situations first and then divide people into some types of negative mailing and then find out the way I guess
This will be hot topic. Let us talk it over soon
We can talk soon.
