I supported the project Baralho El Cabriton PROJETO 54 - 12th Edition.

About the project:
"For the 2nd consecutive year, this campaign has a double reason to exist: in 1st place to continue with PROJETO 54, which has been going on for 13 years, promoting the work of 540 Brazilian artists. And in 2nd place helping El Cabriton stay alive...so the more decks we sell this year, the more breath we'll have."

Brazilian Graphic Design
I supported the book project "Discobiografia Mutante" by writer Chris Fuscaldo. I'm one of the 14 people from Santa Catarina who supported and it was really cool to participate, after having completed my final postgraduate project, the theme was the graphic analysis of the album covers of the brazilian band "Os Mutantes".

I supported the project "Clube do Livro do Design" (Design Book Club), conceived by designer Tereza Bettinardi during 2020 with the purpose of creating an environment for the exchange of references and dialogue between brazilian graphic designers and interested people through reading graphic design books and related areas.

About the project:
"Two observations: the bibliography on graphic design in Portuguese is still quite limited and access to foreign books is still very difficult — either because of the difficulty of shipping, or because of the conversion price that makes the releases even more restricted. Not only that: the production of books written by brazilian authors and designers is also quite small.

Based on this conclusion and from this inconvenience, we had the idea of transforming the Clube do Livro do Design project into a publisher. This was the way we found a way to continue a dialogue with the community we created and also honor the legacy of so much discussion and exchange with the participants."

Used LaTeX
Finally got around to finishing LaTeX version of my CV and merging it into master. I've taken up on designing and building the CV from scratch (i.e. using the `minimal` template) and I've been working on it for over a year, bit by bit. It's not the longest work I've written in LaTeX (that goes to my 50-page HS graduation thesis), but it's definitely the most technically advanced and challenging one, utilizing advanced PDF features such as optional content groups (a.k.a. layers). I'm still on the fence about it being two pages long, but I don't have the heart to chop off enough to make it fit into one.

Takeaways?
  1. PDF is complex. Like, really.
  2. Browser support for PDF is sucky.
  3. LaTeX can do so much that it is scary. It's almost always underutilized and/or used to build visually appalling stuff.
