While I hate that this was dragged for so long, I am happy that the Australian Govt and courts proved that no one is above the law.

If you want to enter a country and play on their soil, you must follow the laws of the land - no matter who you are.

Gave thanks
2021 was in no way kind to me. But, a few humans were.    It is thanks to them that I was able to navigate through the monstrosity that COVID-19 was. Having gone through it alone, I had my worst fears realized. And I cursed myself for shunning people all my life. I have a genuine fear of letting people come close to me and I tend to isolate myself in times of strife. But, some angels managed to break those walls. To them, I will always be thankful.    My heart is filled with gratitude. I will forever be indebted to you, angels.

Freelancing comes with its perks. But, there are downsides as well.

One of them is that you are never really a "part" of an organization.

Since you are either on a contract basis or a retainer model, your focus is on work and delivery. You aren't an "employee."

Due to this, I lose out on small things such as annual bonuses, merchandise, perks, etc. I am more or less used to it!

That is why this box of goodies came as a sweet surprise to me. One of my clients sent it over and I was so overwhelmed to be recognized as a part of the team.

It's a little thing but serves as such an important booster! Inclusion is the best feeling ever!
