Here’s a blog post I wrote on why I want to share somatics with the world.
Somatics is a large set of mind-body practices, therapeutic interventions, and a way of seeing in the world. It works with the entire nervous system and body-mind continuum as opposed to purely cognitive-based systems that focus on thinking-centered approaches.
Somatics teaches us ways to self-manage, self-regulate, and self-nourish so that we can effectively manage stress and overcome obstacles. It also helps us to be more empathetic and connected with others.
